MEET OUR FOUNDERS

Amirali Banani

Amirali is a senior at West Point Grey Academy in Vancouver, Canada. He has a strong passion for science, particularly medicine, which has led him to publish several eBooks on topics ranging from nuclear energy to molecular genetics to the mechanisms of protein synthesis. An enthusiast for novel scientific discoveries and innovations, Amirali consistently reads and writes articles on some of the hottest science topics to both fulfill his curiosity and share some of his knowledge with his peers.

His research focuses mainly on potential medical therapeutics to treat diseases in humans, exploring concepts such as using anti-VEGF therapies to inhibit tumour angiogenesis and developing hypomethylating agents to counteract DNA hypermethylation in ccRCC.

Some of his favourite activities are playing soccer, watching movies with his friends, and learning new songs to play on the piano.

Arshia Akhgari

Arshia is a senior at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in Vancouver, Canada. An aspiring cardiologist, he has a strong passion for human biology and medicine. Having participated in multiple science fairs in Vancouver, qualifying as a BC provincial finalist in both 2022 and 2023, he has ample experience in STEM research and experimentation. The project he presented at these fairs, which explores the relationship between exercise and cognitive functions, can be found in our website’s Research section.

In his free time, he likes to listen to music, play sports, go to concerts with his friends, and cook his favourite meals at home.
