Our international chapters showcase the organization globally, allowing students with similar interests in STEM to connect and join groups in their own countries.
Welcome to the Canadian chapter of Youth STEM Initiative! As the country where YSI was establi, we are proud to represent the largest demographic of researchers, editors, directors and executives in the organization and are excited to further expanding its presence in cities across the nation from Vancouver to Toronto.
Meet Amirali, one of two Canadian chapter leaders, who is also the Founder and Executive Director of Youth STEM Initiative. Having been raised in Vancouver on Canada's west coast all his life, Amirali is delighted to be the leader of his country's chapter for YSI alongside Ali, his Canadian counterpart from the opposite side of the country in Toronto. Currently a student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, Amirali is deeply interested in human biology and psychology as well as their intersections in order to gain a better understanding of how our brains influence our biological and behavioral functions. An enthusiast for research, he hopes to discover more about this through his studies at UW and beyond!
Welcome to the American chapter of Youth STEM Initiative! As a country rich in modern-world scientific innovation and saturated with talented scholars, we are delighted to represent YSI's second largest international demographic and look forward to increasing its reach across this vast nation from Seattle to New York.
Hi, I’m Abhi, a 10th grader from Bellevue, Washington with a passion for healthcare. My academic pursuits include physics, biomedical science, AP Psychology, AP World History, and pre-calculus. I’ve developed leadership skills through safety patrol, peer mentoring, ASB, and the WEB program. As a rower and coxswain at Sammamish Rowing Association, I’ve mastered teamwork and time management. My entrepreneurial spirit was ignited by The Young Entrepreneurs program, leading to participation in the Global TYE competition and winning the Entrepreneurial Olympiad at Stanford University. Volunteering with Seattle Prep Academy and Gratitude Network has enhanced my communication and problem-solving skills. Selected for the University of Washington’s Young Scholars Program, I explored neuroscience, solidifying my healthcare career aspirations. I aim to become a medical doctor and serve communities in need, and my internship with Medical-X has particularly shown me the value of training simulations in medical education. I’m eager to learn, grow and contribute to Youth STEM Initiative with a passion for continuous learning and healthcare!

Hey everyone! I'm Maria Rita, a 16 year old Brazilian girl who is in 11th grade and is very passionate about Aerospace Engineering. My biggest dream is to be able to one day work with engineering some of the famous airplanes you see in those crazy movies, like the SR-71 Blackbird—my favourite plane! I also love discussing aerospace technology with others, and I believe that communication and science together can change the place we live! Studying space and the wider world is always like discovering a new galaxy.
